Aarhus is a nice and cosy city of appx 300.000 inhabitants. The city has many child-friendly beaches and lots of attractions. Founded by the vikings around 800 the city has a viking museum as well as an annual viking-festitval that includes a great viking-battle on the beach of Moesgaard close to the city center. In Aarhus you will also find 'Den gamle by' (photo no.3) - a reconstructed town-center made out of houses from the 13th-17th century. The cathedral in Aarhus is from the 11th century and is one of the largest in Scandinavia. In the center of the city you will find lots of nice cafées, shops, the newly built art museum Aros and a cosy marina for old sailing ships.
The city is surrounded by forests where you will find the queen's summer residence, and an amusement park 'Tivoli Friheden', and the area around Aarhus has lots of opportunities for those who wish to explore the nature, culture and gastronomy of Denmark
About an hour from Aarhus you will find the famous Legoland.
Our beautiful city is mentioned in the New Your Times amongst the top destinations to visit in 2016
