Condo in Waikoloa Village, Big Island of Hawaii, USA

Welcome to the Big Island, also known as the island of Hawaii, the largest island in the state of Hawaii. We are located in the Elima Lani complex in Waikoloa Village which is on the west side of the island. Our condo has two baths, two bedrooms and an open area between them that includes the living room, kitchen and dining space. The complex has two swimming pools and two hot tubs/jacuzzis. The Elima Lani complex is about a 45-minute drive from the Kona International Airport. Flights from the US mainland as well as directly from Asia arrive here. Shopping, banking and post office are within walking distance. Our Waikoloa Village Association also offers access to the local golf course, tennis courts and a new olympic-size pool. There is a hospital at Waimea, a small, picturesque town, about 40 minutes from the unit.

There are world-class beaches about a fifteen minute drive from the unit. Waikoloa Resort, only ten minutes away along the coast has a number of hotels with shopping, restaurants and entertainment available to the public. Due to the pandemic some of these may not be open to the public as of Summer 2021.

The summit of Mauna Kea with its many astronomical observatories is visible from the complex.

The stunning Waipio Valley is about an hour drive away. Hilo, a charming Pacific town, is 70 miles away on the east side of the island and is where we live most of the time. The famous volcanos of Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa and Kilauea are an additional half hour uphill from Hilo. Volcanoes National Park is open again after some well known activity in recent years and is well worth the drive. The views are still spectacular but the Jagger Museum in the Park is closed indefinitely due to seismic activity.

The Big Island of Hawaii does not have the glitz and sophistication of Oahu, but neither does it have the congestion and the noise. We can boast of having eleven of thirteen major climate zones on an island about the size of the state of Connecticut. For outdoor activities and experiences of life as it used to be, the Big Island delivers. Come and spend a few fun-filled weeks!
