Lovely family house in a quiet residential area, very close to the centre of Amsterdam
Lovely and cozy family home with 3 bedrooms, a garden and a playground in front of the house.
The ground floor houses the living room with open-plan kitchen and dining area. French doors open onto the garden with a terrace and sitting area. There is also a seperate toilet on the ground floor.
On the first floor you'll find two bedrooms and the bathroom. The master bedroom has a double bed (160×200cm). The second bedroom has a bed that can be extended to a double bed (single: 80x200, extended: 160x200). The small but efficient bathroom offers a sink, shower and toilet.
The third bedroom is situated on the top floor and has a double bed (140×200cm).
The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Besides all amenities, we also have a cupboard full of board games and some excellent children's toys (such as Kapla).
You are welcome to borrow our bicycles, but public transport is also very close-by.

About the neighborhood
Great neighborhood in the North of Amsterdam that feels like a village but is only 1 metro stop away from central station and two stops away from Dam Square. The perfect place from which to explore the tourist gems of Amsterdam and combine this with a relaxing holiday!
The house is perfectly located on a low traffic square with a playground. There is a park just 200m away and a small shopping centre with all your grocery needs within 400m. There are also various nice cafes and restaurants within walking distance and there are 3 cinema's less than 10 minutes cycling away. Swimming is also an option on a hot summer day: you can either enjoy the outdoor swimming-pool adjacent to the park, or jump straight into the canal that runs through the park.
The centre of Amsterdam can be reached easily (less than 15 minutes to central station by bike or various public transport options), and there is a direct bus to the windmills of the Zaanse Schans (bus stop is 400m away from the house). The nature reserve "het Twiske" is a 30 minute cycling trip away.

Fun-loving and adventurous family of 3 looking for a house swap!
We are a small family of 3 from Amsterdam - mum and two teenage sons - who love to explore other places.
I work in higher arts education as a teacher, course leader and project manager. My eldest son (19) is about to go to university, and youngest (15) is still at secondary school. We all have quite busy lives but love to travel together!
We are interested in other people and new places and enjoy exploring local cultures and communities. We are really into good food and enjoy some adventure and action (like surfing, hiking, etc) but are also very good at relaxing together.
We have done some private house swaps before (through friends) and have always really enjoyed it, so we're excited to swap through intervac.
