Our Neighbourhood
Nearest Airport: Antwerp / Brussels - 3,5 km / 33 km
The house is situated in the heart of Old-Berchem, one of the nicest neighborhoods of Antwerp, only 10 minutes walk to "de Singel" if you want to pick a jazz concert, dance or theater show.
We live near the popular, renovated Groen Kwartier and a 10-minute walk from the trendy Zurenborg district with its cozy squares Dageraadplaats and Draakplaats.
There are many delicious restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as several supermarkets.
A 3-minute walk away you will find a long shopping street with everything you need.
There are 3 beautiful parks around the house, the beer brewery " De Koninck" is only 2 minutes walk. There are nice coffee bars in the streets around if you want to have a good breakfast to start the day.
Also there are bike stations close to our house (Red Velo's) where you can pick a bike to get around. City center, shopping area's, museums and lots of unique landmark are only 10 min by bike, 30 min walk or 20 min by tram. Lots of nice (wine) bars and restaurants are so close, you can walk every where if you love to discover this beautiful city.
The old town center of Antwerp is steeped in history. You can find it in old house fronts in narrow streets or on the imposing Grote Markt. The Plantin-Moretus Museum is the only museum in the world that is on the Unesco World Heritage List. In the shadow of the Cathedral of Our Lady, intimate pubs and restaurants are teeming with life. The banks of the Scheldt are a great place for a breath of fresh air.
Antwerp is a metropolis on a human scale. There is always something to see and experience, from interesting museums and fun attractions to surprising places and architectural highlights.
"Licking finger good food? Antwerp is the place to be! Experience the cozy terraces of the city on the many squares and, in addition to Belgian staples such as fries and chocolate, taste local delicacies such as the beer "Bolleke" and the liqueur "Elixir d' Anverse".
Whether you're a quiet connoisseur, a fence spectator or a boogie prodigy, Antwerp's nightlife is unfailingly vibrant. Whether you want to grab a drink with friends, enjoy a play or movie or dance into the wee hours, the city offers a varied nightlife, with something to enjoy for everyone.
Antwerp is a metropolis on the river, a city that will always leave you wanting more. Hip and historic, cool and classic, trendy and traditional. Everything is within walking distance. How can you not like this amazingly diverse, pocket-sized metropolis? The city center of Antwerp is divided into seven different shopping areas, which are designed to suit everyone's taste.
The Meir van Antwerp is the most prestigious and lively pedestrian and shopping street in the city. In the stately buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries you will find branches of many of the major international chains. Also visit the Shopping Stadsfeestzaal, an exclusive shopping center in the beautifully restored festival hall of the city.
Do you want to get away from the hustle and bustle? No problem, find a seat on one of the beautiful terraces in Wapper, the square in front of the historic Rubens House.
In the trendy Het Zuid district, everything revolves around art and culture. Here you will find the city's three major museums (the Royal Museum of Fine Arts - which is being renovated - the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Museum of Photography), numerous art galleries and a few famous auction houses. The area around Vlaamsekaai and Waalsekaai is home to modern galleries and some exclusive design and interior design shops. Worth checking out, even if just for some inspiration.
Het Zuid is a lively neighbourhood, especially after sunset. Then the hip cafes and restaurants come to life. Taste the best of what Antwerp has to offer and meet some of Antwerp's many bon vivants. Raising a toast to the good life, together with writers, actors and artists.
The hipster factor of Het Zuid is highest in the Volkstraat, where you will find several trendy concept stores that stock design products, unique accessories and many interior objects. A very lively area that is always fun when shopping.
Antwerp has been the largest and most reliable diamond center in the world for more than five centuries. This is not just a business story: it is also a story of craftsmanship, technology, traditions and creativity. Do you want to experience what diamonds mean in Antwerp, or are you looking for a piece of jewellery? Antwerp is a world famous hub for fashion and diamonds. The city is therefore the perfect base for creative and fashion-conscious jewellers. Go out with a guide and discover contemporary jewelers in the Fashion Heart or the historic center of Antwerp.

About Our Family
We are an open-minded family consisting of Tom (man), Bie (woman) and two children Liv and Simon. We have traveled through South East Asia and Latin America and love to live in a city but also reach out to nature by time to time. We like to meet up with friends and family, but we also like to spare some time for sports or to go to drawing school. Simon and Liv are very sporty and love music and drama.
Lifestyle
We are a family who love to live in our nice neighborhood in Antwerp, but during the school holidays we like to look for nice destinations in nature or in other nice cities. We used to travel in Southeast Asia and South America. Since we have our children, we spend our travel time in Europe for the time being.
We love sports (football, gymnastics, fitness, jogging, cycling), music, fun with friends, laughter, fun and occasionally theater or another cultural event.
