Bright yellow townhouse with garden – 16 min to central Stockholm by subway
Welcome to our charming yellow townhouse (built 1948) with a small garden, located in a calm and friendly neiighborhood in southern Stockholm.
EXCELLENT LOCATION
Just an 8-minute walk to Gubbängen subway station. From there, it's 12 minutes to trendy Södermalm and 16 minutes to central Stockholm. By car, Södermalm is only 8 minutes away (outside rush hour).
FAMILY FRIENDLY AREA
I'm divorced and have three children (ages 16, 14, and 12). Occasionally, their mother (my ex-wife) joins us on exchanges.
Nearby: a small playground (200 m away) and a larger one with a skate park (5-minute walk). Grocery store, pharmacy, and restaurants are all at the subway station (8-minute walk). There's also a great "fika" spot (Bageriet BAK) and a McDonald's, each roughly a 5-minute walk in the other direction.
EXPLORE STOCKHOLM
A beautiful city built on islands, with abundant swimming spots in the city and outskirts. Must-sees include the medieval Old Town (Gamla Stan), vibrant Södermalm for cool vibes and shopping, mainstream Drottninggatan, upscale Östermalm, or the recreational island of Djurgården.
On Djurgården island: Skansen (open-air museum & zoo), Gröna Lund amusement park, Vasa Museum (17th-century warship), and Junibacken (children's literature museum).
A 10-minute walk from home takes you to the UNESCO-listed Skogskyrkogården cemetery. Lake Flaten beach is a 5-minute drive; more city beaches and pools are easily accessible.
Venture further into the stunning Stockholm archipelago by boat, or hike the nearby Sörmlandsleden trail (starts near a subway stop 25 minutes away). Ferries to Finland offer a scenic cruise through the islands.
Note: I'm (dad) allergic to cats, so we might not exchange with homes requiring cat care. Dogs are welcome here - the children's mother has a dog, so we're quite used to them!

Neighborhood
About the neighborhood
Its a friendly neighborhood with townhouses and houses, a lot of children and playgrounds. Its very close to the city, just 10 minutes with subway. There is also a big and resently renovated playground close with a skating ramp, fotboll, and a lot of fun stuff for small children as well.
Its very close to the city (Stockholm, the main capital of Sweden), 10 minutes by subway and walking distans to the subway. If you take the car to the city it only takes 5 minutes. Stockholm is a beutiful summer city with a lot of water. I recomend to take a boat (ferry) out in the arkepelago, as a daytripp.
If you want to swim you can go to a swimming lake, Flaten, 5 minutes by car. In the city of Stockholm you also have a lot of beaches if you want to swim in the ocean. Just 10 minutes with subway you have Eriksdalsbadet, a big swimmingpool area where we use to go with are one children during summertime, beautifuly located.
If you would like to go by bike to the city, its easy and close by, and something that many people do, including me and my husband.

Greger and his family were really nice and uncomplicated guests. When we had questions, he answered them.
