Ranch home in quiet San Diego cul-de-sac

My home is in a residential area a few minutes drive from the freeway, making all San Diego attractions easily accessible. My home is quiet and comfortable, and includes a good-sized garden with a variety of fruit trees.

While you're visiting, be sure to check out the museums at Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Legoland, Seaport Village, Old Town, and the beaches at La Jolla and Torrey Pines. I'll direct you to some of my favorite Mexican, Thai, Vietnamese, and Italian restaurants, or if you'd prefer an all-American burger or steakhouse, I can tell you about that, too. If you like outdoors activities, try hiking in the desert or mountains, surfing, bicycling, or perhaps trying out something more extreme--hot air ballooning, skydiving? You name it, and San Diego has the activity for you!

For times when you want to rest, relax in my garden with a book from my personal library, enjoy one of my many DVDs, or have fun messing about in the kitchen...chocolate cookies, anyone?

Let me know if there's anything else I can do to make your stay in San Diego more comfortable! Welcome!

About Our Family

I generally travel with my mother, who is also a teacher--of deaf and hard of hearing students. We both are semi-fluent in several Romance languages (Spanish, Italian, and French) and love immersing ourselves in other cultures.

I'm very excited to share what I love about San Diego, and hope you feel the same about your hometown!

Lifestyle

I live a fairly typical suburban American lifestyle. I'm close enough to the city center to enjoy the sights of San Diego, but far enough away to have peace and quiet when I want it. Because this is Southern California, I drive everywhere, but I am always thrilled to use public transportation when I travel.

I love kids, but am allergic to most pets. I'd love to meet my host family, perhaps through a non-simultaneous exchange or bed-and-breakfast arrangement, or at least through skype.

When I travel, I tend to seek out museums, concerts, outdoor markets, gardens, and popular (but not too expensive) restaurants. Aside from gardens (and perhaps the walk up to a nice vineyard), I'm not very outdoorsy, and won't be going on 20-mile hikes. This is somewhat ironic, since I will walk twice that distance in order to find a great museum or market, or in order to walk up the first two levels of the Eiffel Tower.
