Great flat in Reykjavík center

Great apartment in the center of Reykjavík, close to everything except the noise of the Reykjavik Center nightlife. Nice kitchen with all equipment and dining table for 4 people, big dining room and a living room with a huge couch, tv, stereo etc. Washing room with washing machine and a dryer. A good master bedroom, one small room for an infant or small child and two big children's rooms - one of which is used for an office also. Lots of toys and stuff for 3-12 years age. Balconies both to the east and west and a garden in the back.

There is a small and homy supermarket just 300 meters away and bigger ones well within walking distance. Laugavegur, the main shopping street in Reykjavík is very close by, and Skólavörðustígur, the handicraft shopping street leading up to Hallgrímskirkja Church (the big one), is just around the corner.

The apartment is by a quiet one-way street leading down to a big public park, Hljómskálagarðurinn. There is an even smaller street in the back where there are always children playing. There are two small playgrounds within 100 meters and a bigger one by Hallgrímskirkja, around 300 meters away. On Hverfisgata (below Laugavegur) there is a cinema house with international features (as opposed to Hollywood movies) and there are museums and exhibitions within walking distance all over the centre. Coffee-houses, restaurants and bars are in surprising quantity and quality all around.

In short - a very good place to be for all members of the family :-)

Quiet and child-friendly neighborhood in the city center. Only 5 minutes walking distance from the main shopping street (Laugavegur) and only a couple of minutes away from a convenience store (Krambúðin). Literally next door to the charismatic church of Hallgrímskirkja... in other words, very downtown.

Animaux domestiques

We are five people and a cat. The cat is highly independent and keeps the rest of us as pets. Arngerður is a Organist in a church and Daði is a computer scientist. The children, 14, 12 and 4 years of age have not decided how they will make a living, but geologist and baker seems to be the flavour of the day.

We are music and book enthusiasts and keep fit by soccer and gym and other usual methods. In the summers we travel both abroad and in Iceland, especially to North Iceland where Arngerður comes from. In short: Normal.
