House in medieval Dunster, on Exmoor, with stunning views and easy access to village, coast and moor.

We are looking for exchanges in the UK of around 1 week, or longer if abroad. Please contact us if you like what you read below even if you aren't on our destinations list; we are happy to try different areas!
Our home has 1 double bedroom and a smaller bedroom with a single bed that can be converted to double. It is in a cul de sac with parking. We do not have pets because Geoff has an allergy. If you decide to stay here you must appreciate the country side, historical surroundings and the view over the church and village. It is very quiet here and public transport is limited, so a car is useful though not essential.
The house has been fully modernised and has central heating, plus a gas fire in the lounge. The kitchen is large and well equipped because we both enjoy cooking and spend much of our time there! All the rooms have superb views of either the village, the hills or the sea and are comfortably furnished. In the lounge is a wide screen TV with Sky reception. Free wi fi is available in the house.
There is a small garden and lawn where you can sit out/barbecue if the weather is suitable, all the necessary equipment is in the shed. We also have a new "outdoor living space" which is lovely relax in.
The situation is idyllic, we love it here and are certain you would as well if you like country life and historic surroundings; a love of walking will also be an advantage as our back gate leads straight on to the moor where there are many beautiful walks to be enjoyed of all lengths and difficulty.
Dunster has many pubs and restaurants and one grocery/delicatessen as well as all the usual tourist shops etc., so you can get all you need here without having to drive. However all the larger stores/supermarkets are further afield so a car is an advantage although not essential; also it will enable you to see more of Exmoor, much of which is "off the beaten track".
There is public transport but much of it is seasonal and does not reach all the interesting villages and tourist spots.

Dunster is a Mediaeval village featuring various buildings from the period e.g. The Castle; Pack Horse Bridge; Yarn Market; Folly and cobbles!
Dunster is on the West Somerset Railway route (the longest independent preserved railway) where steam trains are a regular feature. The sea (the tidal Bristol channel) is within a short walk and the hills (all sign posted and easy access walking) are at the back door of the house.
Amenities are within 2 miles (by that we mean a supermarket, minor injuries hospital, pharmacist and ATM).
Our house, with parking for 3 cars is an ideal centre for exploring the village and Exmoor, one of the most beautiful National Parks where outstanding walks can be enjoyed.
