Our 1895 Mid Terrace cottage Lounge and dining areas Main bedroom. King bed.

1895 Mid-terrace house, fully renovated, village Centre. Quiet. Delightful neighbours. On-site parking. Smaller supermarkets <1 minute away. Super-Sainsburys 4 mins by car or 15 mins walk. Perfect for LONDON: 30 mins from London Waterloo.

Knaphill is small friendly community with all amenities, including restaurants,7 pubs and big and small supermarkets (closest is <100 metres). 6 houses in our terrace and all neighbours delightful and helpful. This unpaved Street is a dead-end cul-de-sac. Your car will be at your front window - as per photo! House is double-glazed and warm. Bedroom ceiling fans for warmer weather. Garden with herbs. Barbecue. Bicycles. Fully equipped kitchen. 3 TVs. Excellent internet connection. Fantastic train links to London (Waterloo) from Brookwood (7 mins by car and undercover parking) or Woking. London journey takes 35-40 minutes.

Heathrow is 30 mins away and Gatwick 45 - 60 mins. To date our guests have used the taxi service to Knaphill and then used Kendall Car Rentals in Woking - usually much cheaper than hiring from Heathrow or Gatwick.

In 2023 we upgraded the third bedroom, previously used only as ironing/storage etc. It now has a portable, but strong and comfortable, single bed. This means that a family with two children who don't share a bedroom, could use our home.
3 bedrooms. ONE KING. ONE DOUBLE. ONE SINGLE.

Neighborhood

About the neighborhood

Right in the middle of village, back street, absolute quiet at night. If you run out of milk, put the kettle on, run 50m through lane, and you’ll be back as kettle boils. A huge Sainsbury's supermarket is within a 10-15 min walk or 3 min by car, and Waitrose around 5 mins by car.
LONDON: We know it can be difficult to secure a London Exchange. We've had guests who went by train to London almost every day. The Festival Hall is AT Waterloo Station; Opera House and all theatres are walking distance from Waterloo station, over the River Thames via bridge. 10-15 mins.
Knaphill is like a suburb of Woking though doesn’t feel like it. Very much Surrey green belt. Lots of walking and cycling areas, particularly along the Basingstoke Canal. Brookwood cemetery second largest in Europe - 500 acres. Very interesting to visit/walk/ride and experience the Commonwealth War Graves site.

Some 7 local pubs are accessible and vary in style and offerings with a number providing great English Pub atmosphere and first class food. The Jolly Farmer, the Red Lion at Horsell, the Nags Head in Knaphill, The Inn at West End are 4 of our favourites.

There was excellent communication with this exchange family prior to the trip. The home was as described and photographed. Rosenheim is in a beautiful part of Bavaria. We loved the location and everything it had to offer. We communicated with our exchange family during the actual holiday, and we appreciated this. Highly recommended exchange.

Everything was perfect. Great communication with Peter and Pam, a beautifully renovated house in beautiful surroundings with excellent train connections to London. Vielen Dank!

Very constructive and pleasant pre-exchange communication. Lots of useful information and we felt well-informed. It was lovely to meet the exchange partners' daughter in London for the key exchange. Always delighted to meet the family, or any member of; helps to make the exchange more personal. The large apartment was better than described. Spacious and comfortable with added bonus of shared pool with other apartments in the complex; very useful when holidaying in Spain in the Summer. Comfortable beds and nice linen. Undercover secure parking a big bonus. Puigcerda is on the Spanish-French border so shopping took place in 2 countries! Great fun. The town has an historic centre and we really enjoyed walking "up" frequently. Train service to Barcelona was excellent for a sojourn there. So much to do in the area and 3 weeks was a good length of stay. The famous tourist "Train Jaune" is not far away. Recommend. Eating out was easy with lots of places within walking distance. Excellent kitchen facilities for home-cooking. Thank you Jordi and Gloria. Highly recommend this exchange.

Pamela & Peter are a very nice, helpful couple who have made the house exchange very comfortable. The communication between us, from the first moment , has been fluid, without any problems. Their house is cozy, as seen in their add. It's located in a quiet area, 40 minutes by train from London. It has been a very satisfactory exchange. A house to consider if you want to travel to London and surrounding areas

We are retired Australians. In late 2016 we moved to UK and bought this delightful house in Surrey. It's our home for 6+ months of each year.

Preference for 2026 is Norway, Italy and Switzerland but open to all offers. We're very useful people and will look after your house well. (No car-exchange as UK insurance rules make it impossible; and we are usually driving it).
