Lovely and spacious house in Bordeaux

Our house is a very spacious old house built in the late 19th century and fully renovated. It's located in a pleasant area within easy walking or tram distance of the town center (we only take our car for week end !).

On the ground floor (130 square meters): isolated entrance hall, living room, dining room, second lounge and big kitchen opening on a green and sunny garden (South West side), a bedroom and toilet. On the first floor (130 sm) : four bedrooms, four bathrooms, toilet, a playroom and the laundry. On the second floor are our office and the attic (which might be closed during your visit). In the basement : a big cellar. We like our house for its light, space and "charm" !
Its high ceilings (3,90 m/12,5 ft) keep it cool, even in summer !

We enjoy our flower-filled garden (150 sqm) surrounded by trees. We eat easily outside with birdsongs for breakfast and dinner especially. There are a barbecue and a ping pong table.

We have four children, so you can find lots of toys (lego, playmobil, kapla, table games, a big baby foot, paper and colour pens, PS4, ...) and lots of books inside.
We also have bicycles that we very often use to get to work. Bordeaux and its flat topgraphy is perfect for the bicycles ! But we also walk a lot in Bordeaux as the city is largely pedestrianised and as our house is a 20/25 min walk from the cathedral .

Our Neighbourhood

  • shopping a small supermaket (0.1 km)

We live in a residential area close to all amenities (food shops, local market on Saturday, supermarkets, bakeries, banks, ... tramway, bus). Very easy to reach what you want !

The house is strategically located to go to the centre (20/25 min walk, 10/15 by tram just 5 min walk from our house / bus ) and to explore the surroundings by car (30 min drive for St Emilion, Medoc, and the famous castles & wineries ; 40 min for Dune du Pilat, Arcachon and the ocean for surfing or tasting oysters ..). You can also use the bus just next to our house (15 min to go to the central station to take the train to Arcachon).

Bordeaux is a 18th city classified in the UNESCO World Heritage Site and an historic city with many tourist attractions. You will appreciate "cafés", gardens, and museums springing up all the time. There are lots of interesting attractions in the town center. The quaysides with their impressive 18th facades and the emblematic "Place de la Bourse" are very nice for walking, riding a bike, rollerblade, skate, and even refreshing in the "Miroir d'eau" for young children.

You can also discover Perigord, (1h30 drive) registered in the world patrimony of the Unesco for the riches of its prehistorical caves (the famous cave of Lascaux with paleolithic drawings, ..) and the Dordogne with its old authentical villages (Rocamadour, Sarlat, . ), its castles and rivers. The "Pays Basque" in the South could be another purpose of your trip too (the seaside resort, Biarritz, with powerful waves which attract the world's top surfers or Saint Jean de Luz / 2 hours).
