Edinburgh centre - 2 bed flat

Hi there! We live in the centre of Edinburgh's beautiful Marchmont neighbourhood which is situated to the south of the Meadows park, walking distance to its historic Royal Mile and other tourist attractions.

The neighbourhood has been largely built in the late 19th and early 20th century for the middle class of the Victorian Edinburgh middle class. Our building was built around 1905 and like others around here, it is a listed building (that is, protected). Lots of students live here as it is close to the Edinburgh University.

The flat is around 80 sq metres: it has an open plan living room with kitchen, a large (master) bedroom with a small study (this will be locked during the exchange), a smaller bedroom with a view towards the Meadows, University of Edinburgh library and the Quartermile, a bathroom and a small utility space. We all sleep in the master bedroom together (it has king size bed, a single bed and a toddler bed), so the smaller bedroom is largely used as an office and for visitors - it has a sofa bed which can be extended into a double bed. The bathroom has a bath with shower. The kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge with freezer, a toaster, an oven, gas cooker. There is a TV in the living room, the flat has internet but no landline phone. The corridor area is also used as a play area by the kids. The flat is very light because there are three roof windows, and it is also quite warm, in winter because of the central heating and in summer due to heat :) When it's 20 degrees outside (in Scotland we call it a "heat wave"), the flat feels really warm. Our building has four floors and we live on the forth floor; the views are lovely but there is no lift, unfortunately, so it also provides for daily exercise.
