Some information about our village Pignan
Our house is at 10' by walk from the village center with all commodities (bakery, butchery, fruits and vegetable, cheese shop, ...). There is a well-stocked SUPERU supermarket at the entrance of the village. One can walk in the garrigue starting from our house. Healthcare pathway is on the hill just above the house. Village center is worth visiting with its medieval vestiges (clock tower, penitent chapel, ...), the Turennes castle and its shady garden. Wine-making and oil-making cooperatives of the village offer high quality products. One may find other information about Pignan on the city-hall web site.
Leisure activities suggestions in the arounds
In Cournonterral (3' by car from Pignan), Poséidon swimming pool offers in-door pools and an out-door solarium opened on greens and aquatic games area. Golf players would dedicate themselves to their favorite game in Fabrègues (5' by car from Pignan). The golf domain also offers a very pleasant spa. Nearest beaches are at 20' by car from our house: Palavas, Les Aresquiers, Frontignan. Maguelone's cathedral is worth visiting. We advise to visit it at the end of afternoon to enjoy sunset on the lagoons.
In Montpellier, starting from la Comédie square, one may take a walk in the historical district called l'Ecusson. Art lovers will visit the Fabre museum. Garden lovers will appreciate a walk in the jardin des Plantes, or in the zoological parc and will visit the amazonian glasshouse. More information about Montpellier on the tourism office web site.
At less than 30' by car
Pedestrian trekking lovers will climb the Pic Saint-Loup by the south slope, starting from the village of Cazevieille. Around Pic Saint-Loup, one may visit several villages preserving a medevial center with important fortification vestiges : Saint-Jean-de-Buèges, Saint-Martin-de-Londres, Viols-le-Fort, Murles, Les Matelles, Notre-Dame-de-Londres.
At less than 60' by car from Pignan
In the gorges of Hérault, Saint Guilhem Le Desert and the Pont du Diable are unavoidable places. Molière lovers will adore the scénovisio in Pézenas. More information about Hérault on the tourism office web site.

CA1014422This exchange went very well. The car was waiting for us at the park and fly, and then a short 30 mins drive from the airport to their house.
We have received a welcome package, which is a much appreciated personal touch.
The house is even better than the pictures was showing. This was a perfect base for us to visit the surroundings. The whole family will keep amazing memories from this exchange.
We had open and fun conversations over Whatsapp and the intervac site. We received good recommendations of things to do, places to visit, restaurants to try and useful places (groceries, bakeries, gas station, etc), which were all close to the house.
Patrice, Isabelle and Zoé were very nice guests, they left the house clean and prepared our house and car for our next guests who were coming from Germany. Again they were very nice and helped make this exchange switch go smoothly with easy communication.
I would recommend the Buche family anytime! They are always welcome to visit us in Montreal!
