Grand Victorian Flat in Downtown Draguignan-en-Provence or Village house Aups
I live in a grand Victorian flat in an 19th c mansion in the small city of Draguignan in the Var region of Provence. I live alone. Write books. Don't smoke. No children or pets in tow. Am a meticulous housekeeper. Will swap car as well. Experienced swappers preferred. I have done 30 house swaps. Mostly in California and Italy. My apartment has three bedrooms, a large living/dining room and a spacious kitchen with all conveniences. The bathroom is not huge but ample. Toilet and laundry room are (à la française) separate from bath.
In the rear of the apartment there is a second smaller salon which gives onto a huge windowed verandah/solarium looking out on trees and a large garden. The apartment offers 1200 sq ft of living space and is on the first floor - not the ground floor - one flight up. The house was built in 1890. Renovated in 2012. Everything functional is brand new. The house has 3.5 meter ceilings, moldings, marble fireplaces and authentic Salernes tomettes floors throughout. The region is chockablock with places to visit, swim, eat and shop. Day trips to St Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Monaco and Italy. I hop in my car and drive to Italy for lunch. Avignon 2 hours. Aix & Marseille 1.5 hours drive. House sleeps 4 comfortably. 1 Queen-sized bed, each with two separate mattresses. 3 single beds/ Town has all shops and cafés, restaurants and hotels, bakeries, butchers and a giant farmer's market twice a week in the central square.
The TGV train station is only ten minutes away (Les Arcs-Draguignan). One can drive there or take a special bus which stops in front of the house and goes directly to the station.
I am American. I live in France. I rarely have guests. I have no pets or small children nor do I smoke. I am open to swaps in the US and some parts of Europe. I speak English, French and Spanish. I need a good internet connection and Cable or satellite TV. Give me the Internet, a modern kitchen w dishwasher and food markets nearby and I am a happy camper. (ex swappers will happily provide references)

Draguignan is a small city in the heart of Provence. It's a short drive from Cannes, Monaco, Nice, St Tropez, Frejus, Bandol, Aix, Avignon, Marseille and/or Arles. In less than 2 hours one can be in Italy for shopping or an overnight in Liguria or Tuscany. Dragugnan is a quiet, but busy town of 35,000 people. Everything one needs is available on foot. The farmers' markets are in the heart of the city on Wednesday and Saturday. There are many supermarkets and small greengrocers, bakeries and clothing shops galore. The train (TGV) station is ten mins away. The bus to the station stops in front of my house. Go anywhere in Europe from here - in style!

Informations sur la famille
I am an American author who lives in Provence and Buenos Aires. I like to swap my places for houses in northern California each summer. I live alone. Write books. Rarely have guests. Can water plants an feed cats. Not so good with dogs. Have swapped 30 times all over creation - but mostly in Marin, San Francisco and on the Peninsula. I am a meticulous housekeeper and enjoy taking care of other peoples' houses.
Le style de vie
I usually stay at home writing. I don't smoke. I read a lot. When I'm in the States I usually find my way to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods a couple of times a week. I'm not a tourist. I don't drive all over the place looking at oceans or museums. I do watch some PBS and listen to NPR. I am on the computer all day so wifi is essential. I prefer urban quiet to countrified quiet. I scour thrift shops for bargain clothes and gadgets. In France, from where I live I can have lunch in Italy or in Avignon or Aix or Marseille. As there is so much to see in Provence, I often take a drive to Arles or go the other way to Cannes and Monaco.
