House in Liepaja, Latvia
We offer for exchange our holiday house Ezera maja (www.ezeramaja.lv) from September till Mai and the attic floor of the house where we live (Kaleja maja, https://apartamenti.lv/en/kaleja-maja/), if you wish to come in June, July, August. Both houses are in the old part of the town close to the beach and to town center.
Our holiday house is charming wooden building. The 100 year old house has been completely renovated and offers every comfort. At the same time we have kept its old, homely, Latvian spirit. Each room has been decorated with the special love of an artist’s hand. The rooms are equipped using natural local materials, keeping the ancient feel of the house.
The house has two floors. Each floor has its own entrance and each floor is fully equipped for long term living (ensuite bedrooms, equipped kitchen, washing- machine, iron/ ironing board, Wi-Fi, TV in each room).
On the ground floor there are three spacious ensuite bedrooms. On the first floor, with its high beamed ceilings, there are two large ensuite family rooms.
The house has central heating. There is also the private, spacious yard, where are parking possibilities and nice sitting area. We have board games and toys for children.
The house, where we live (Kaleja maja) was built in 1892. Your rooms (https://apartamenti.lv/en/kaleja-maja/) will be situated in an attic which retains the depth and peace of past times. Natural wood and herbal tea, linen sheets, fruit and vegetables from our garden will take you back to the days of your childhood lightly spent in the countryside. We offer three separate rooms there set in a traditional style, WC, shower and a kitchen where you can look after yourself. The attic floor apartment has its separate entrance. We will share the garden. There are some equipment for children, sitting places, BBQ, huge green house etc. It is possible to park a car or leave bicycles in the yard. If you wish to come in summer (June, July, August), we can offer only this house.

Our Neighbourhood
Liepaja is the 3rd largest city in Latvia. Although Liepaja has only 74 000 inhabitans. Our house is situated on the only street in Liepāja that connects the Baltic sea and Liepāja’s lake.
The Liepaja beach has amongst the whitest and finest sand in the world. This provides an ideal place for lazy relaxation, sporting activities, long or romantic walks, and cycling.
Peter’s Market is in only five minutes walking distance from our house. The market is open daily. Every day you can buy fresh fruit, vegetables, milk products, fish and meat.
Karosta (Previous Naval port of Liepaja) is a really unique and rare site not only for Latvia but also historically, architecturally and as an example of urban construction, worldwide. This is one of the most unusual sightseeing places in Latvia. One can like or dislike Karosta, but it won’t leave one cold.
Liepaja is Latvia's capital of music because of different music festivals (pop, rock, jazz, sypmhonie, organ music etc.) and old musical traditions. Liepaja is also town of students. We have University here. Liepaja has its own Theater and Symphony Orcestra. There is also wide choise of cafes, bars and restaurants and some very charming music clubs.
Around Liepaja ar a lot of possibilities for exploring nature – forests, nature parks, wild beach, mushroom picking in autumn, fishing, hiking etc.
Visisting those websites will inspire you and help to plan your stay in Liepaja

Two closest airports are in Palanga (Lithuania, 60 km from Liepaja, flights to / from Oslo, London, Copenhagen, Warshaw, Glasgow) and Riga (capital of Latvia, 200 km from Liepaja, wide range of air companies and flights). There are a lot of cheap flights from/to Riga with AirBaltic, Wizzair and Ryanair and a lot of other popular European flight companies. There is also ferry connection from Liepaja and from Klaipeda (Lithuania, 90 km from Liepaja)
Liepaja is a good base, if you want to explore western part of Latvia and Lithuania.

NL0475The house of family we exchanged with is beautifully located near the beach and the city. The garden is big with big trees and the house itself is spacious, clean and well equipped.
The family left our house clean and tidy; just as we left it for them.

PL1018796I had an opportunity to meet nice people. The house is very oryginal (rustical with specific past time climate). This is nice place for excursions and to spend time on nice beaches of the Baltic sea. Ljepaja offers many atractions, that you can enjoy during staying there. I recommand this offer for every one who is interested in visiting an interesting cultural places with nice nature
